Kid’s-eye view of Caribbean Beach Resort

The new aqua play area

There are so many amenities and activities designed with a child in mind at Caribbean Beach Resort. Here’s just a few of the things that kids will enjoy best wheil staying at CBR.

Pirate rooms If your child loves Peter Pan or Pirates of the Caribbean, then they’ll love staying in a special Pirate Room in Trinidad South. The décor makes it all to easy to pretend their bed is a real pirate ship. If you’ve got two or more little ones, be prepared for some ship battles in your pirate room!

Pirate cruise — At Caribbean Beach Resort, your child can become a pirate, too! Kids ages 4-12 can participate in the pirate cruise on Barefoot Bay. The boat departs the Barefoot Bay Marina on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 11:30am, with snack provided.

Goombay Games Arcade — What is it about arcades when you’re a kid? I remember spending whole afternoons playing Skee-ball, air hockey, and Pac-Man, and while the technology may have advanced, playing in the arcade is still a great way to spend a few hours on a rainy afternoon. The games work on a point system ($1 for 50 points, $5 for 250 points and so on) so if you get, “Mom, can I have a quarter?” then it’s not for the arcade! Ha!

Old Port Royale Pool – If your child is like a swimmer, then the resort’s main theme pool will likely be their favorite spot of all. The zero-entry pool, refurbished in 2008, is one of the best on Disney World property, with two water slides and shooting water cannons. It’s made to look like a pirate fort, giving plenty of material for your child’s imagination to go wild. There’s also a big wading pool nearby, so kids of all ages will be able to swim to their heart’s content.

Aqua Play Area – And just to up the ante and make you wish you were five again, there’s a new aqua play area at Old Port Royale Pool, complete with squirt hoses, a huge bucket that drops water from above, and three kid-sized slides. Count me in, let’s go play!
