Dining Options at Caribbean Beach Resort During Construction Project

The construction project at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has started, which means the dining options at the resort have changed, quite drastically.

The Old Port Royale Food Court and Shutters (the table service spot) are now closed and guests can choose a breakfast dinner buffet, or order from a food truck, or they can visit one of three “island markets.”

Our friends at the Disney Food Blog checked out the new options and you can read all about that here.

The breakfast and dinner buffet are set up near the Fuentes del Morro Pool, just behind Centertown.

Guests queue up under a covered area to pay for either the buffet or to place an order for the food truck (currently the Superstar Catering Food Truck from Disney Springs is located at the hotel).

The food truck is serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

If you choose the buffet you’ll be given a wristband to enter the buffet area. The buffet and the seating area are located inside an air conditioned tent.

On the morning that our DFB friends visited the breakfast items included Mickey Waffles (and that’s always a good thing!). The buffet featured hot breakfast items and there was also an area for pastries.

The other dining option is being called an “island market” and guests will find these in three of the villages at the resort. DFB visited the Martinique island market which was housed in room 2509.

Let that sink in: the island market is in a repurposed hotel room.

In the “market” you’ll find assorted “grab-and-go” items and the refillable mugs. However, when DFB visited the Freestyle Coke machines were not yet available for the refillable mugs. They were scheduled to be ready by May 5, so if you’re at the hotel now we’d love to hear about the refillable mug stations.

As of press time the Banana Cabana Pool Bar was still open but that is slated to close as part of the renovation at the hotel.
