After months of planning and eager anticipation leading up to your Walt Disney World vacation, it’s finally here! And you’ve arrived at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. So now what? Other than visiting the theme parks and enjoying some great food and entertainment, what else are you going to do to make this the best vacation ever?
We have a few suggestions.
First, before you even arrive at the resort, make sure you have made a wise room request. What we mean is this – some of the rooms at CBR are better than others based on location. Remember, this is a huge resort and some of the villages are “out there” and require more travel to get to where you need to be.
Next, we suggest that you learn the bus system at CBR. Each village has its own bus stop but again, some room are farther from the stops than others. Do your research so you aren’t missing the bus.
Now, let’s talk about the resort itself. The main feature pool is amazing, and each village has its own quiet pool – so relaxing poolside is a must when you’re staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort.
And, in the midst of park hopping, you’ll want to think about spending one full day at the resort relaxing. A resort day is a great way to refresh yourself in the middle of your vacation so that you don’t burn out before the last day.
On a resort day you could spend the day lounging at the pool, but we suggest exploring the resort a bit. Have a picnic lunch on Caribbean Cay and then let the kids play with the old Spanish cannons.
Or maybe you want to spend a day on Barefoot Bay. While boat rentals are no longer available at the resort you could go on a guided fishing excursion from the marina. And you can always rent a bike or a surrey bike and take a ride around the resort.
If rain threatens to dampen your day, head over to the Goombay Games Arcade for a bit before stopping at the Calypso Trading Post and Straw Market for some shopping fun! And don’t forget to refuel at Shutters or the Market Street Food Court.
